No Naked Lesbians in Prison: L-Word Spin-off The Farm Not Happening
April 3, 2009

After the last season of the L Word: the whole ‘Who Killed Jenny’ thing, the shortened season, the lacking one hour finale, many-a-fan were left in L-limbo. Now that the news is out, that Showtime has opted out on picking up The Farm, fans are pissed. Since it was assumed the true killer would be revealed on the spin-off it leaves the L Word without its proper ending.
The irony, how the only one that ends up happy is the straight girl with the cross dresser boyfriend…this is bull caca…one show, and the lesbians can’t have a happy ending?? uggh
The ending just did not do any justice or closure to the legacy and stories and lives of these characters. I understand an ending that might be a bit open-ended and leave some questions left unanswered, maybe because they want to make a movie or a spin-off at some point. But Sex and the City which in my opinion was the straight girls-New York version of the L word, at least ended the series with some sort of closure and giving satisfaction to the viewers and characters. This was just overall a bad episode and especially a bad finale. [sho facebook comments]
The “Interrogation tapes” that Showtime has on their site, supposedly cut footage, isn’t really satisfying the audience either.
this interrogation tapes sucks worst of all the farm not getting pick up…what a waste of time trying figure out who killed jenny…they better make a damn movie… [sho facebook comments]
Showtime is instead focusing on new series pick-ups, including the comedy Ronna & Beverly. We have to assume that The Farm pilot sucked so bad Showtime was forced to trade sexy naked lesbians with a fanbase for kvetchy Jewesses with You Tube posts that are over a year old and have less than 10,000 hits.
Ronna & Beverly comes from “Weeds” creator/exec producer Jenji Kohan and is produced by Lionsgate TV “and revolves around the antics of two middle-aged Jewish women in Boston.” Authors of the book for Jewish singles, “You’ll Do a Little Better Next Time” these yentas have already brought laughs around the internet. Check out some of their clips: Beverly interviewing with Kate Walsh (asking the cutting edge questions like, Is Patrick Demsey a fagala? — Walsh is gracious, but wants to go home), getting grandma in Florida to vote for Baruch Obama (because he’s a friend of the Jews), and more on You Tube.
